New label Alert: Bing Bang NYC
New York 12/01/2015
We'd been dreaming of getting our hands on Bing Bang's awesome jewellery for ages, but couldn't, as the label is difficult to find outside the US. So we made it our mission to import this gem of a label this side of the Atlantic. Mission successful. We're now covered with tiny bullet pendants, elegant spikes and cool earcuffs, and couldn't be happier.
Pretty, golden things
There's a reason why we keep buying French jewellery brands. They're just, in our humble opinions, the best. Striking the perfect balance between prettiness and edginess, Caroline Najman are a constant favourite of ours. Their AW14 collection doesn't disappoint, with geometric bows, spikes and delicate chains.
Perfect basics, with an edge
Cold weather has definitely arrived, and with it, dare I say it, a certain style laziness which makes you grab for the most comfortable and easiest piece in your closet. Good thing that we've just received Outstanding Ordinary AW14 collection. Our favourite Seoul-based indie label delivers, once more, relaxed pieces that are so easy to wear and yet so cool.
Autumn doesn't have to mean Boring
And we'll have to thank independent Korean label Margarin Fingers for that. Their AW14 collection offers wearable and confortable shapes with slightly bonkers detailing: an androgynous peacoat with baby blue fur inserts, a pink checked skirt that Cher Horowitz would have loved and cool tees with lace layers. Available in store and online now.
New label alert: Just Female
It was love at first sight when we first discovered Danish label Just Female at a tradeshow in Copenhagen this summer. The silhouettes are edgy, easy yet feminine, while the fabrics and sober colour palette add an androgynous side. Think oversized boyfriend wool jumpers, classic belted coats and re-invented Annie-Hall checked trousers. Available in Boxpark now, and online soon.
Rocket x Lunch SS14: the new collection
It felt like Christmas time at our Boxpark store last week when a huge box full of treasures by Korean indie label Rocket x Lunch, arrived. Wearable yet interesting silhouettes are given an extra edge with cool textures and fabrics. Visit our Boxpark store to get your hands on the new collection before it sells out!
Summer inspiration: The Simplicity Edit
It's getting seriously toasty in London, and us Londoners are not exactly used to stay cool in sweltering weathers. Our advice: stick so simple outfits. You can either go for relaxed separates, or an easy, casual dress that will see you through from day to night. Contrast this easy silhouette with a few edgy details - cut-outs, lace inserts, cool necklines - to keep things interesting.
Finally Here: Margarin Fingers SS14
The Korean label never fails to delight us, and after previewing their SS14 lookbook back in January, we just couldn't wait for that collection to arrive. Despite delays totally unrelated to us (literally everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong), it's finally here, and it has surpassed our expectations: we can finally fullfill our fantasy of looking like a cool Japanese college girl.
New Label: Headband Heaven by Adeli
Browsing through cool French blogs, we discovered and fell in love with headband specialist Adeli. The small Parisian label was founded by two young women who know the importance of the finishing touches.
New Label: Noot
Our London customers have been enjoying Noot in our stores for a little while, and we finally got round to making these subtly edgy accessories available online. Their characteristic knot design has a rough prettiness thanks to its functional esthetics.
If you love clean lines and minimalism, Outstanding Ordinary's spring collection will delight you with its subtle sportswear influences mixed with quirky, feminine detailing. Gingham prints, quilting and nautical stripes are re-invented on effortless silhouettes, with cropped tops, sporty sweater and oversized t-shirt dresses.
Perfect scandi-cool basics
There's absolutely nothing wrong with sticking to basics, especially when said basics are perfectly cut and funked up with urban detailing, in true Scandi spirit. Check out the latest arrivals from our favourite Danish labels.
Berlin-based Front Row Society recently sent us some new scarves, and oh god, how cool they are. Tie loosely around your neck or your handbag handles for a touch of colour edginess.
Perfect, everyday shoes
At Wandering Minds, we're constantly on the lookout for shoes that look utterly cool, are flattering and comfortable enough to wear all day and night. Check out our selection.
Effortless daytime pieces
We've received a top-up of easy yet stand-out pieces from French label Cozete. Their usual daytime prints are complemented with clean, colour-block dresses and blouses that will sort out your everyday dressing.
Sexy and Cool: the combination that only Australian labels master
Minkpink and Somedays Lovin rock our world with clean yet sexy pieces in vivd colours and prints for a look that screams effortless cool.
Winter is dragging on, and things are getting boring. Indie label Margarin Fingers makes this exciting for us again with its funky daisy print jumpers and mini skirts, all in weather-appropriate wool.
